The “Beauty & The Business” Educational Series is a new focus on education and professional enhancement provided by our own local stylists and beauty professional community.  The NW has a tremendous amount of talented, award winning veterans in the beauty industry who are full of knowledge and experience.  With this series you will be able to learn from the best that the NW has to offer.  These series of classes will touch on all aspects of the beauty industry, including styling techniques, marketing & customer acquisition, financial management, and salon ownership.  Students and professional stylists who are looking to grow in their craft and their business operations will surely benefit from participating in these classes.

 

 

Our 4th Session of The Beauty and The Business Educational series for Hair & Beauty Professionals where we focused on: information from BECU on the advantages of business accounts and the services they offer to support financial security for small business owners. Learned the versatile style of The Flat Twist from Zue Sawtell- Stylist and Owner of Defined Salon. Helpful tips from Digital Marketing Evangelist Annette Washington on how to use AI for small businesses. Learned about Straightening systems like Brazilian Blowout from Alexandria Folino of Soul Collective. We also received business support, training, and technical assistance from Tabor100 our co-host. Annette Washington is the Executive Director of AG Washington Web and IYBS Local, a digital marketing firm based in Renton, Washington.

With over 30 years of experience in business, she has a diverse background in the food industry, web development, and digital marketing.

As a dedicated digital marketing advocate and educator, she assists businesses in leveraging online marketing potential. She has taught Online Marketing classes through local non-profit initiatives, such as Startzone, Tabor100, Foster School of Business, Urban Impact Seattle, and Business Impact NW.

Alexandria Folino is a professional hairstylist with over 20 years of experience.  She is the creator and owner of Soul Collective, a lovely hair salon located in Seattle’s Central District. With her reputation for being a day maker, she works well with all hair textures, yet has a natural attraction to afro texture and curls. Her passion for healthy, manageable hair sets the tone of the style of service she delivers. Alexandria will be sharing knowledge and expert techniques about smoothing treatments in this upcoming class.”
